Hi I'm Est, owner here at Daisy and River. It's so nice to meet you...

You'll find me tucked away in sleepy Dorset with my fiancé Sam and little boy Ezra.

I've always been craft obsessed and have dabbled in more things than I can count but nothing ever really stuck for long until I found crochet.

I'm Christmas crazy, it's not a day, it's a season and I go big!! Last year I got to combine my two loves and create a festive knitwear collection and it was the most fun I've ever had. I already have big plans for knit-mas 2024 so if that's your jam, please do stick around!

I'm a big night owl, which is handy for working through your lovely orders but not so great when getting up with the 2 year old, but that's what coffee is for right?

I love chatting to you all, getting to know you and your littles. Being a small part of a special occasion or just a Tuesday is by far the best bit about having this store. So thank-you for all the support, without it I wouldn't be here!

Where did Daisy & River begin?

It all started on my maternity leave where I found myself constantly nap trapped under my little one. I adored the snuggles but I needed to find something else to occupy my postpartum riddled head rather than mindlessly scrolling on my phone.

I decided to pick up some yarn and a crochet hook and taught myself to crochet with the help of youtube. Once the utter frustration of needing a million fingers to make a single stitch passed I was flying and it became the exact therapy I needed to keep my brain busy.

Before I knew it I was using my new crochet skills to up-cycle knits for Ezra, and then gifting my creations to friends little ones.

With a lot of lovely feedback and endless encouragement from friends I took the plunge and opened up an Etsy store in April 2023 and here we are!

I joke about living in my 'grandma era' but truly after the rollercoaster of having a baby I needed something cosy to slow me down and create space for something I enjoyed and I love every second!

What do I do?

I use a mixture of crochet techniques and embroidery to create bespoke appliques, which I hand sew onto knitwear to create unique pieces for you!

I work with a very talented knitter who can create a handmade cardigan or jumper (in any colour) for me to work a design on to for you. Alternatively you can opt for my send-in service and provide me with the knit and I'll work my magic.

I also drop ready-to-wear batches throughout the year of brand new designs. These are always so fun to create!
